I am Palmer L. Traviolia a GGGrand son of Dominic Travioli. My lineage is through Napoleon, Jerome and Charles. I recently joined the Travioli Family Genealogical Forum and I am answering your question about the new stone on Dominic and Abigail's grave in the Black Cemetery. A few years ago I, along with two of my brothers, Harold and Leroy, were making a research trip to Clark Co., Illinois. We visited Napoleon's home, Jerome's home and the cemeteries where our Travioli and Larrabee ancestors are buried. The old stones on Dominic and Abigail's grave were out of a soft stone, weathered and difficult to read. Napoleon's stone in the Ligingston Cemetery was of marble and easy to read. My brothers and I decided to have a marble stone put on Dominic and Abigail's grave to mark the graves for future Travioli researchers. We contracted with a local monument dealer in the town of Marshall to put up a marble stone on their graves but not to disturb the older stones. This he did. I hope you found the new stone satsfactory. I would appreciate your comments.
