Hi John, long-long-lost cousin from 'down under'!
Great to hear from you (and Graham too). It's always exciting to get more news on Jasper et al!
I'm related to 'your man' as follows ...
Jasper and Suzannah's son Matthew was my Great Grandfather. Matthew married Louisa Geary from Staffs, UK and their daughter Wilhelmina was my Grandmother. She lived in Newport, Mon and married Elkanah Carless and their second youngest offspring was my father, Robert who eventually came to live in Bristol which is where I reside now.
I've not yet been to St Woolas Cemetry but am hoping to do so soon. I believe Wilhelmina and other family members are also buried there and I need to find out where before I go to see.
I too have 7 July 1881 as his death but as yet have no birth certificate. Graham's news concerning the Church of Ireland's Library in Dublin holding records on Lislee is very interesting!
Do you have much info on Jasper's children who emigrated? I have a small amount on Martha but not a lot else as yet. (I'm quite new to this game but have a v. useful friend who works for Bristol Public Records Office Genealogy Section!) Will let you know if anything new turns up. Hope you have a safe journey to Oz!
Best wishes, Cynthia.
