SPRINGFIELD - Kathryne Marie Trapp, 92, of Springfield died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Springfield, the daughter of Karl and Rose Heiser Kohlrus. She married Laurence "Babe" Trapp; he died in 1959. Mrs. Trapp worked for the state of Illinois for 42 years. For 26 of those years, she was the executive secretary to Sen. Frank M. Ozinga. She also was the executive director of the Legislative Commission to Visit and Examine State Institutions. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, St. John's Hospital Samaritan's Club and was a pastoral care minister at St. John's Hospital. Survivors: son, Laurence "Jack" Trapp Sr. of Springfield; daughter, Alyce (husband, Bill) Brown of Mount Prospect; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Monday, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Rev. Mark Schulte officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
