Hello John,

From what I have learned from other researchers, my Isaac was the son of Jacob Transue. I have heard there is some controversy over the wife of Johann Abraham, and that it was not Maria Magdalena Long/Lang. Have you heard anything recent on that? My Isaac was born about 1790. I found him in the church records. His name was spelled as Isaak Transu in the old records, and he was married to Hannah Brotzman or Hannah Protzman. My great-great grandfather, Johannes Shutz, (John S.) married Catharine Whitaker. He served in Company A of the 56th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during our Civil War. He was wounded twice, but survived the war, and died in Kansas in 1897.

Nancy Transue Armstrong
