I also have an Isaac Transue in my line. He would have been my great-great-great grandfather, but I believe he was born about 1790, and married a Hannah Brotzman or Protzman. My great-great grandfather was Johannes Schutz Transu, son of Isaak and Hannah. I found his birth and christening record in old church records from Northampton County. My Transues also lived in Smithfield. I'd love to know the connection between Uriah and my Isaac. In the old records, the name was spelled without the "e" on the end. My great-great grandfather, Johannes Schutz, (John S.) served with Company A of the 56th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded twice during the war; once at the Battle of South Mountain, Maryland; and again on the first morning of the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 1, 1863.
