To: Mitzi Stuart: I am really interested in the information you have on this family. My gggrandfather was Sampson Trammell, a brother of William Trammell.Their father was John Trammell who I can find in Warren/DeKalb/Wilson Counties in 1840,50,60 and 70 censuses along with Sampson, William and another brother Daniel.I have a record of another brother, Isaac, but haven't found a lot of information on him. This family intermarried with the Vanhooser family: Daniel's second wife was Didamay Vanhooser; Sampson's daughter, Susan, married Issac Vanhooser and also their sister, Elizabeth, married Sampson Vanhooser. There appears to have been a lot of family ties both in Warren/DeKalb/Wilson Counties in TN (These county lines moved during that time, so the families may not have moved so much) and in Caldwell and Livingston Counties in KY. Also,I have some evidence of connections in Allen Co.,KY.Sorry, I can't be of much help on direct descendants of William, but I'll pass anything I find on to you.I've been looking forever for the parents of John Trammell, William and Sampson's father, and unable to nail down anything solid. There were so many named John.Do you perhaps know who William's grandfather was?He gave the census taker in 1870 info that he was born in SC, but I've seen other places that he was born in VA, TN and KY.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thanks.Email me if you wish at [email protected]
