This theory is credible. Another Virginia family that migrated early to Maryland were the Hambletons and William Hambleton came to Talbot County and was one of the first to settle there in 1650's upon receiving grants for his negotiating with the indians. The overseer of his will in 1675 was Capt. Philemon Lloyd. Edward Lloyd wwhen he wrote his will in 1750 at Talbot County mentions his deceased uncle Richard Bennett. This was likely the same Richard Bennett of Queen Annes County(borders Talbot) who was active in the early land records of prince georges County 1700-1720. Richard Bennett bought land from Joseph Chew abt. 1720 called "Yarrow" which David Trail lived by as early as 1705.Joseph Chew had inherited this land from his father Joseph Chew of Ann Arundel County. Then their was Philemon Lloyd Chew who died in 1770 in Ann Arundel County (the bridge from Talbot to Prince Georges in 1700's) and his brother was Bennett Chew.
