Hello again,
The difference in the two messages is that I added that Robert and Janett were married in Edinburgh in the second one.
A further comment on the Perth records. Is it true that Perth became part of Fife later? There is record of a Robert Traill marrying Isobill Barcley in 1700 in Perth, so this could be Robert & Janett's son (late marriage) or grandson (normal timing). This may be a clue...One interpretation: Robert of DE went with his brother in law to establish a new estate in the colonies, then died before being able to go back to Scotland and bring his family to live there...His wife stayed behind and raised the children.
Another Robert who was born later than the 1621 one in Edinburgh:His name is spelled differently in the record.A Williame Traelle was father of Robert Traelle on 14 Dec 1625 in Monifieth, Angus.I believe that is near Dundee.
Does this Robert have a known history?
