Yes, that is interesting. Col. James Trail was an officer in Cromwell's army as well. Col.James had a daughter named elinore who came to America in 1684 with her Husband William Trail who was the nephew to Col.James Trail. They were preceded on the Eastern Shore by Robert Trail who was born about 1640 and came to america in 1673. When Robert died in 1685 he left part of his estate to Norton Claypoole. The Claypools were neighbors to Cromwell and supporters as well. The Claypooles had originally come from Lowland Scotland but had been rewarded by King Henry the VIII with land in England and had prospered there.
