In the Prince Georges Land records there are depositions taken where on 2 or 3 occasions David Trail states his age. The deposition taken in 1732 he states his age as 55 which would place his birth in 1677/78. The other depositions match to the same birthdate. Also in a 1730 deposition he states that he remembers 25 years ago speaking with a certain person about a boundry which means he would have been there in 1705 at the latest and very possibly earlier. This 1705 date would make him 27 at that time. James Trail first appears in Delaware in 1727 when he signed with others a request for a church. His name on that request is spelled Tryal. His will of 1743 spells his name Trail and lists himself as a yeoman. Further research has determined that these were certainly the same people. Also on the list of 1727 was Abraham Molestine, the son of Alexander Molestine. Alexander administered the will of Robert Trail who died in the same vicinity in 1685 and Alexander received the bulk of Robert's estate.
