Then things start to get confusing. In 1705 John Brown "shipwright" of "Wood Joy" and "Standley's Choice" appears in the records. Then in 1723 John Brown "planter" buys "Simon's Lott" from Simon Nicholls and I beliecve it was this John Brown who married Ellenor Beall unless it was his son. Anyway, i have to do a bit more research to figure it all out. Then about the same time another John Browne married Elizabeth Beall and Ninian Beall married Catherine Brown and they were all closely related. I'll get back to you when things are more clear.
