Northumberland ,Virginia Connections 1600's
Posted by: George Trail (ID *****8017) Date: June 17, 2009 at 18:07:41
  of 1866

1716- Prince Georges County,Maryland David Trail Sr. recieved payment from the court for taking care of and then burying Thomas Bass, apparently an old man.

1664- Northumberland County, Virginia Thomas Bass marries one of the orphans of John Radford Sr.

1664- Northumberland County,Virginia John Radford jr. chooses Thomas Bass to be his guardian.

1677- John Radford is transported into Ann Arundel County,Maryland with others among them John Buxton.

1684- Ann Arundel County,Maryland John Radford appears in Prerogative court record with Henry Hanslap and Samuel Chew among others.

1700- Ann Arundel County,Maryland John Radford witnesses a will with Samuel Chew.

Shortly thereafter John Radford apparently moved to Prince Georges County Maryland where he appears in land records witnessed by the Bealls. His son married into the Taneyhill family.

1728- "Seneca Landing" Prince Georges County John Radford's will is probated and witnessed by Johnathan Simmons,Joseph Brown Jr., and John Hemingway. John Radford was one of the very few people to precede the Trails settling on Seneca Creek. David Trail Sr. patenting his land there in 1731.

On a side note for those who have followed my research.
Miles Gibson was transported into Maryland in 1667 as a servant to John Bradford. I believe this John Bradford to be the father of the John Bradford who rescued David Trail Sr. from a law suit filed by Tobias Bowles in 1720.
