Dear Gail, No that was a different David, although I did think for a long time, it was one and the same. However Gordon McGregor of Perth Scotland kindly gave me the particulars that he had found for Colonel Andrew Traills family from papers in the St Andrews Archives with which he was familiar these are not indexed.These details fitted with the information already held for that family by Colonel Andrews descendents. You will I know recognise the names

       ii.       ELSPETH TRAILL, b. 1554, Fife; m. TROILUS LAUSONE, 15 Nov 1573, Dunfermline, Fife.
       iii.       JAMES TRAILL, b. 1555, Beley, Fife; d. 26 Apr 1635, Anstruther Easter; m. (1) GRISSELDA RAMSAY, 1594; b. Abt. 1540, Ardbekie; d. 03 Feb 1594/95, Balcaithlie, Fife; m. (2) MATHILDA MELVILLE, 15 Oct 1595, Fife; b. Abt. 1564; d. 23 Nov 1608, St Andrews; m. (3) GRIZZEL MYRTON, 1609, St Andrews & St Leonards; b. Abt. 1590, Of, Randerston, Fifeshire, Scotland.
       iv.       DAVID TRAILL, b. 1556, Beley, Fife; d. Bef. Mar 1589/90, Flanders; m. ALISON DUNCAN, 26 May 1577, Dunfermline, Fife; b. Abt. 1557.
       v.       GRISELDA TRAILL, b. 1560, Fife; d. 1592; m. WILLIAM HUNTAR, OF MENHAL, Abt. 1581, Inchervie, Fife; b. Abt. 1555.
