Dear Johnette, I do indeed know of two brothers who went to the Caribbean.Their names were David and James.David first went to Barbadoes I did not know David was a carpenter but James was definitely a chemist. David and some of his family eventually moved on to Boston. James and his family went back to England. James lost his family in a shipwreck, but here is the important part. David left two children in Jamaica called Jane and James. James the younger was believed by his Uncle James to have been still alive in Jamaica in 1774 when he himself died in London. Could you please e-mail me direct with more detail as I would be most interested to hear what happened next regards Elsie Ritchie. There was another Traill Called Thomas in the island of Dominica but he did not have a brother a chemist with him
