I have to doubt that because Jenny Gibson was a little girl during the Revolution, referred to as a "minor" by her uncle. That also does'nt explain why Thomas Trail appears in the 1800 and 1820 census way out in western Virginia and Jane Trail(jenny Gibson) is the head of a 5 member household in 1810 at Norfolk. A tremendous amount of Norfolk records of the 17th and 18th centuried were lost to fires so that is a disadvantage. However there are records that show an Orcadian presence there throughout the 18th century of which some were closely related to the Traills of Orkney. Jenny gibson Trail herself was the daughter and niece of some highly regarded and ranked mariners.
