New York Trails
Oh good one George I'm not sure who they are, but I have records for a William Trail in New York up till 1808. He was a painter. Sarah then appears as the Head of the household with 3 black servants in the 1810 census.so sometime between 1808 and 1810 William dies. Then the youngerWilliam appears on records in the 1820s and Conrad R.Trail first appears in the 1830 New York census as a bookbinder with a small family and likewise William. They are in trade as bookbinders. Conrad is also in the 1850 census. In the 1860 census Conrad aged 63 (which ties him to the record you found) has a wife called Hannah (57) and four children Conrad (29) John S (22)Mary C. (18) and Charles F. Trail(15). i hope these extra details help with their eventual identification Elsie
