John:
The information you are searching for has arrived, and I hope the delay will be worth it, I have been tied up on the new cd's, and editing takes so much time. Non the less, here is your data: Joseph Trahan (church record does not reflect Siphorien in any of its spellings) married Marie Zulma Leocadie Dubois April 22, 1833 at Lafayette. Marie Zulma Leocadie was daughter of Pierre Dubois and Julienne Dartes, Joseph Trahan was the son of Joseph Trahan and Anasyasie Landry.
Joseph Trahan was the son of another Joseph Trahan and wife Francoise Pitre, and Joseph was the son of Joseph Claude Trahan and wife Elizabeth Aucoin, Joseph Claude was son of Jean Trahan and Marie Girouard, Jean the son of Alexandre Trahan and Marie Pellerine, and Alexandre the son of Guillaume (the father) and second wife Madeleine Brun.
Now I should mention that Joseph Trahan and Anastasie Landry had a second son Joseph, whose middle name was Siphorien, who married Marie Olive Dubois, sister of Marie Zulma Leocadie, who married Joseph Siphorien's brother Joseph. This caused much confusion until all information was eventually gleened from church records; I thank Betty Mier, the deceased Archivist of St Jean's cathedral, she spent so much time helping me out.
Lastly, Joseph and Marie Zulma Leocadie had 9 children, while Marie Olive and Joseph Siphorien had 13 children.
