DAGOBERT TRABER, Victoria County, Texas

I'm looking for leads on DAGOBERT TRABER. I have seen records that also show him as DOGABERT and COBERT.

I know that he immigrated from Switzerland or France to Texas with his family in 1844. His father was JOSEPH TRABER, mother MARIE ELIZABETH WANNER. Sister, WILHELMINE TRABER, CAROLINE TRABER, and brother JOSEPH TRABER.

Family legend has that he drove cattle to Kansas City for Texas Cattle baron, Shanghi Pearce. There are conflicting accounts of his death: 1.) died on the trail in a snow storm 2.) died on the trail from an epidemic of some sort.

Anybody outthere know anything?
