Hi, my maiden name is Stewart, My GGG grandfather was a peter Stewart, he states he was from Appin, but i suspect he may have travelled up from from Tummel. My late aunt spoke of an Alexander ( Alasdairin gaelic) who came from Borenich in Perth-shire, she said he left Scotland never to return. My G.Grandmothers line was also Stewart, she was Grace or Grizzelher cousin was Ailiodh Dall the fabulous storyteller.I have a line of Stewarts who married a Duncan MacArhter, he was easier to find, his details are , he was a policeman, latterly tinsmith. Some facinating stories.I am desperate to trace peter Stewart`s parents, he was sentenced to transportation in 1852.
