I'm not certain about Frances [Frankie] Ophelia Townsend's parents, but she had one sister, Mary Elizabeth Townsend (b. 10 Jan 1865 Paulding Co., GA - d. 25 May 1948 Rossville, Walker Co., GA). She was married to William Henry Poindexter on 3 Oct 1880 in Dekalb Co., AL. They were my GGranddparents.
I hope we can help each other. I really look forward to
hearing from you.
I found the following marriage and am hoping these are the parents of Frankie and Mary E. Townsend. Need to more research.
Family stories are that both parents died and left three orphaned children. Both girls wound up in Dekalb Co., AL. There was a brother named Robert who later took the surname, Roebuck. That story is a little hazy and needs some research.
