Hi, I'm looking for descendants of a John Townsend (born about 1862) who migrated to America in the 1890s.
He was the son of John Townsend (b1824, d1891) and Jane Connolly (b1839, d 1908) of Mountmellick, Queens County (now Laois).
John and Jane had at least 11 children - most of the sons went into the army. John, who migrated to the US, was probably 2/11 and we know nothing of his life, except he's on some of his brothers' army records as next of kin - and they mention he's living in America.
Any help or any knowledge of John or the Townsends of Mountmellick welcome.
