SHELLEY TOWNSEND 11/09/03
Thank you for the info. Peggy Townsend of North Carolina, both through her and her husband, is related to Lettice and Thomas. Her Husband had his chromosone checked and it does not match my group. Two others match his. Peggy has been searching for the ancestors of Thomas for 30 yrs. and your info may go a long way to help. I am familiar with Faith Light and John Townsend of Virginia and Richard Townsend who was an early 17th century immigrant to Virginia. The Townsends that match my chromosone were allegedly in Montgomery County, North Carolina during the start of the 19th century and eventually moving through Tennessee and in to Texas. William Townsend, son of Lettice and Thomas had a child Aaron(1780) that moved to Georgia and had a child he named Henry Pinckney Townsend born 1818. The two people that match my chromosone is another Henry Pinckney Townsend born 1830 Tennessee and John Riley Townsend. My particular Townsend Thomas was a generation,or two, before them moved to Nova Scotia around 1783 which strongly implies he was a loyalist or British soldier. That Thomas was married to an Abigail Bray and the name Bray was quite common in North Carolina and Northern New Jersey.Other than that info he is my achilles heel.
