I am wanting to make contact with family members from other family lines. I hope they may have information to help me go back further into the family history.
I am searching on information about my gggggrandfather, John Townsen(d) who came to Tennessee via the Carolina's from VA. he was born in 1750's or 1760's. His grandchildren moved from TN and homesteaded in Lampasas Co., TX. They built a mill in Adamsville (in Lampasas Co., TX). We don't know if he came from England directly or if he descends from someone else who came from England. I don't know exact dates for birth or death. He was in the Revolutionary War. He also dropped the "d" during or after this war to dis-own his brothers who fought for the British. He died in Kentucky in the 1830's. I know nothing about his wives, except his first wife may have been Dutch and spoke little if any english. I believe he was married 2 or 3 times. His children were: (Some records show the Townsen with and some without the "d").
