My line of Townsell/Trousdell traces back to William Trousdell in Lincolnshire, England. Most of my research centers around descendants who lived in Lisseycasey, County Clare, Ireland; first records found in 1820's. Some of the family went to Australia; others to America, settling in "Little Ireland", Limestone, New York; Chicago, Illinois and Iowa. My great-grandfather, who lived in Little Ireland, James Townsend/Townsell, born in 1830's, married Mary Hogan, later Mary (Burke/Burkett) Brushingham. My grandfather was John V. Townsell, Sr., born 1879, who lived in Illinois and then Kansas. He married Ella Nenno and then Louise Schultheiss, in 1933.
