I am trying to connect my William H. Towns of Cobb Cty Ga. with his parents. On the 1850 Cobb Census page 31 - 32 is Willam H. Towns b. abt 1828 with wife Louisa Hodge towns & family. Living with them is Elizabeth R. towns 69yrs. old born NC. I suspect this is his mother(Elizabeth Strickland married James Daniel Towns I maybe?)
Old ancestry message board post states an article from the Albany Herrald abt. Richard dissolving his business & brother WH from Cobb Cty. Ga. retiring.
Many people have confused my WH with the younger WH in Madison Cty. Ga 1850 census with Daniel II. I think William H. may be a brother to Daniel I have all of williams children, however it should be noted: William H named one of his sons Madison(Roland Madison) and there is also Madison Towns in Talferrio Ga.abt the same age as well as my Rolan Madison named one of his sons Madison.
This family also seemed to have strong family ties in Alabama as they traveled there frequently and some of William H's children moved there a well as got married there(?) Does anyone have any documentation or information on Williams parents or any way to help sort tis family out?
