Searching for any information about Moses Foster Towns, born Nov. 2, 1820 in New Hampshire or Massachusetts. (census records and death certificate don't agree). He married Adeline L. Howe Jan. 24, 1847. She was born july 25, 1818 and was the daughter of Samuel Howe (b. 1785 MA to Artemas Howe & Mary Bigelow) and Lois Rosebrook (b. 1788 to Eleazer Rosebrook & Hannah Haynes). Moses and Adeline Towns had 2 sons, George E. Towns b.Oct 23, 1848 in NH and Frederick Walter Towns b. Oct. 3, 1852 in Guildhall VT. The pelham, Hillsborough Co., NH 1850 census lists Moses F. Towns, 30 farmer, Adeline L. 31, george E. 1. Joseph W. Towns 15, Abby E. Marden 8. They moved to guilhall Vt where they are listed in the 1860 census with sons George and Frederick. In 1865 they move to Caroline County, maryland and are listed in the 1870 census with frederick and a 6yr luella Hansel. Son George died in July 1869 during some sort of seizure. In the 1880 census they are listed with a 13 yr old dau. Ella Woodbury? Adeline died in 1892; her obit mentions as survivors, Moses, one son, F. W. Towns and an adopted daughter (no name). Moses died in 1904; his obit mentions as survivors, 1 son, F.W. Townes of denton, MD and 2 brothers, no names or residences. I have obtained a copy of Moses' death cert.; his son F. W. was the informant but he evidently didn't know the names of his own grandparents as those lines are marked unknown. Any help with my Moses would be greatly appreciated.
