Simon I have seen evidence of your work regarding Townleys in Ireland. My GGGGrandfather came to America in 1830 from County Monaghan. His name was John Townley and was married to Elizabeth Miller. They had Mary born in 1817 and George born in 1819,also twins Ebeneezer and John born 1825 and daughters Elizabeth and Agnes. They attended Presbyterian churches early on in America.Have you come across any evidence of them?I believe Johns fathers name was George. John was a weaver. Is it fair to assume that all Townleys in Ireland were descended in some way to the Catholic Towneley family of Burnley Towneley Hall fame?
