i have been researching the Redfearn/Townley connection over the past few years and have collected a variety of miscellaneous data, much of which i have not seen out here so i thought i would post what i have in case it can help you out.the data is not always completely referenced but it is listed in a way that you should be able to get to the original source from here - it is also sorted by year and represents Townley info from 1663-1785 in Maryland, Virginia, North & South Carolina - hope this helps:
Bet. 1663-1675 New Kent Co. VA – John Townley purchased 640 acres from Ralph Greene (Old New Kent Co. VA vI&II 1977 by Malcolm Hart Harris)
1676 – New Kent Co. VA – John Townley granted 1100 acres on Arricaico Creek (Old New Kent Co. VA vI&II 1977 by Malcolm Hart Harris)
1676 – MD – a Michael Townly is mentioned with a George & Frances Beckwith
1690 – New Kent Co. VA – John Townly receives 80 acres on Porportank Creek (Northern Neck Grants & Surveys – Land Office Patents No. 8, 1689-95 pg. 96)
1692/93 – Gloucester Co. VA – William Townley witnessed a deed of Benjamin Read on Petsworth Parish (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980)
1693/94 – Middlesex Co. VA – suit of John Townley vs. Anthony Bankes is dismissed (Middlesex Co. Orders 1680-1694 pg. 677)
1702 – King William Co. VA - Robert Townley assisted John Hurtt in surveying lands for the Chickahominy Indians (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980)
1702 – King & Queen Co. VA – John Townley m. Sarah Edmunson (dau. of James Edmunson of Essex Co. VA & Judith Alleman Parr – five children:Thomas, John, Susanna, Elizabeth, and Sarah.- identified per the will of James Edmunson in 1741 (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980).
1704 – King & Queen Co. VA - John Townley listed in quit rent rolls for 200 acres (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980)
1706 – King William Co. VA - Robert Townley – deeded 75 acres by John & Sarah Hurt in St. John’s Parish, King William Co. (King William Co. Records, Bk. 1, Part 2 1702-07)
1709 – Charles Co. MD – a Judith Townley is mentioned in will of Philip Lynes.
1717 – Prince George’s Co. MD – Will of Elizabeth Gantt withnessed by John Townley.
1718 – Prince George’s Co. MD – Mary Smith Townley, mentioned as wife of John Townley in will of John Smith, blacksmith (Maryland Calendar of Wills v4) – also mentioned in MD PG marriage records Mary Smith is the daughter of John & Elizabeth Smith.
1719 – John Townley listed on list of taxables in Mattapeny Hundred with John Smith.
1721 – Prince George’s Co. MD – John Townly takes orphan daughter Mary White age 4
1732 – Prince George’s Co. MD – John Townly is a creditor in the will of Samuel Warner.
1736 – Prince George’s Co. MD – John Townley listed as innholder w/ Daniel Carroll in the land records of PG 1733-39.
1740 – Prince George’s Co. MD – probate of John Townley’s will, mentions wife Mary Townley and daughter Elizabeth Townley (John here is referred to as William Townley) – deals with appraiser & creditors (Abs. of the Prerogative Court 1737-44)
1742 Essex Co. VA – John Townley purchased land in Essex Co. VA on Dragon Swamp (Old New Kent Co. VA vI&II 1977 by Malcolm Hart Harris)
1743 King & Queen Co. VA – John Townley mentioned with wife Sarah and John Livingston conveying 250 acres on the Propotank river. (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980)
1743 Essex Co. VA – John Townley of K&Q Co. bought 230 acres in South Farnham Parish by Bestland Swamp adjoining Francis Atwood (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980).
1743 Essex Co. VA – John Townley of K&Q Co. bought 300 acres along the east side of Rappahannock Road and Dragon Swamp adjoining Thomas Hart.
1744 – Prince George’s Co. MD – John Townley’s will – mentions widow Mary Townley, and two daughters Elizabeth & Mary Townley – deals with payments (Abs. of the Prerogative Court 1737-44)
1745 – Essex Co. VA – John Townley of K&Q Co. bought 310 acres of land north of Bestland Run at the mouth of Reedy Branch (The Townleys of King & Queen by Harold Grier McCurdy FEB 1980)

1782 – Prince George’s Co. MD – Thomas Townley m. Henrietta Stewart
1784 – Wake Co NC - Henry Morris Townley sold to John Shaw 300 acres on the south bank of the Neuse River and on both sides of Little Lick Creek formerly granted to Thomas Townley by Henry McCullock.
1785 – Frederick Co. MD – James Townsley listed as a juror at the coroners inquest of Christine Pepple
