Thank you for that bit. That sounds alot like the stories I have been told about the family.
I am descendant of Col. George Franklin Townes - Alexander Sloan Townes - Ella Townes as well. And have some information about thier lives. I am sure you probably know some of it, but would be happy to share notes if you are interested.
