I am researching Towner of Sussex also.

At the moment my tree starts with Eleazer Frederick Towner who married Mary Edwards in 1833 in St. Ann's Lewes.

Originally we had thought the line went back to John Towner and Elizabeth Brown through their son James but now feel that Eleazer might have been born in Kent.

Is there a kind soul out there who could help me, particularly is there a Leanne Tarrant with whom I corresponded in 2003 who had a James Towner dob 1811 who married an Ann Ford dob 1816 in Leigh Kent.
