Could Oliver Towles that married Mary Chew be the son of Oliver Towles b. 1710 and son of Stokeley Towles and Anne Vallot? They were both in the vicinity of Spotsylvania, and this would explain the Jr. being added to the name. This would seem more reasonable than him being the son of John who appears to have related to Culpepper and then the Carolinas.

Thinking hard on this,
Berry
