My husbands family comes from Leeds, his GGgrandmother was Winnifred who married Thomas Towey b1830 in Ballaghaderreen Ireland. Their three children Patrick b24/12/1870 d4/4/1918, Mary b15/5/1872 d22/3/1942 and John b1874 emigrated to Leeds as children where they lived with their aunt Margaret Towey b1831 sister of Thomas. I have a good idea of the desendants of Patrick all of whom were living in Leeds at the time of your mothers birh. I have no information on John and Mary married and moved to the states. I hope this is some help I know it is before the time you are looking for but how common can Winnifred Toweys be? Good luck let me know if I can help. Thanks Candida
