William Tower/Towers 1854-1900 Warwickshire & Essex Counties, England
It appears that almost every Tower/Towers family in the mid-1800s in England census records had a son named William. To further complicate matters, many of those who would have married about 1879, married women named Many Ann or Ann or Annie.
Does anyone have in their Tower database a William Tower who was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, about 1854, and married about 1879, a woman named Mary Ann, who was born in Surry, Lambeth, about 1856?They were shown in the 1881 census living in London, St. Mary's, Islington East and in 1891 inWonstead Parish, Leyton, Essex.
William and Mary Ann had children named Florence, Emily Louise, Daisy Lilian, and William Henry, born ca 1880, 1881, 1883, 1884.William died in 1900 in the West Ham district, Essex, Greater London, according to the BMD index, and Mary Ann is shown in the 1901 census as a widow, with all her children still in the household in North Leyton Parish at #12 Grange Pond Road.
I've not found a marriage record for their daughter, Florence, but Emily married Sidney Grigg in 1910 Glamorgan County, Wales, and I believe Daisy married a Greenaway in Essex.
I would appreciate very much some help in placing William with the correct Tower/Towers household in the 1861 and 1871 census, and learning which Mary Ann who married a William Tower/Towers was the mother of Florence, Emily, Daisy, and William Henry.
Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.
