Dear Neil;
When I was a month old, I was adopted into the Tower Family. Therefore, I will speak as one of the clan.
My grandparents, Alexander and Zillah Jane (Ward) were from Rockport, New Brunswick, a tiny coastal settlement on the Bay of Fundy forming one angle of a triangle with Dorchester and Sackville, N.B. at the other two angles.
Their eldest son, Murray Elsworth became my fayher in 1933.
I was told that part of the family moved here from Mass. pre-American Revolution, not because of politics but because of religious differences within the family.
The three locations are in Westmoreland County, New Brunswick, and the records you mention showing Doirchester may be written so because Dorchester is the Shiretown of the county and therefore the gathering point of family records.
Folly Lake is close to Truro, Nova Scotia, on the main line of Canadian National Railway going toward Halifax. At one time, this was the location of a large coal tar operation where railway ties were treated.
Many Towers live in Westmoreland County and those mentioned above, plus other brothers, sisters and spouses of Alex and Zillah's children are buried in the Sackville cemetry in the Tower lot.
Trust above is somewhat helpful.
