MARTHA TOVEY, of the parish of St. George Southwark, Surrey County, dau of RICHARD, m. ROBERT JOHNSON, Dec. 20, 1805, Middlesex County, England. =================================================== I, MARTHA JOHNSON of No. 16 Gold Hawk Terrace Shepherds Bush near London, the Widow of ROBERT JOHNSON formerly of Lambs Conduit Street and late of Great Russell Street London, Chemist deceased do hereby revoke all former Wills made by me and Declare this to be my last will and testament I appoint my daughter AMELIA JOHNSON and my Son in law ROBERT ULLOCK POTTS of South Audley Street Grosvenor Square London Chemist Executrix and Executor of this my will And I bequeath to the said ROBERT ULLOCK POTTS the sum of Nineteen Guineas for his trouble as my Executor I devise my freehold messuage and premises in Cambridge Terrace Hyde Park, now in the occupation of my daughter MARTHA JOHNSON at the yearly rent of one hundred pounds unto my son FRANK JOHNSON and my five daughters MARTHA JOHNSON, GRACE GUMBRELL JOHNSON, CATHERINE WIGZELL the Wife of the said ROBERT ULLOCK POTTS, ANNE RICE JOHNSON, and AMELIA JOHNSON their heirs and assigns in trust to permit my said daughter MARTHA so long as she shall be desirous of so doing to occupy the said Messuage and premises as yearly tenant at the yearly rent of One hundred pounds she at her own expense keeping the same in tenantable repair and condition and insured against fire to the amount at least of One thousand five hundred pounds, and in trust during such period as my said daughter AMELIA shall remain single to pay to her or permit her to receive out of the rent of said messuage and premises the annual sum of fifty pounds payable quarterly, the first payment to be made on such of the four usual quarterly days of payment of rent as shall happen next after my decease And also in trust during such period as aforesaid to pay the surplus rent of the said Messuage and premises including the rent from the last day of payment prior to my decease, to my said son FRANK and my said four daughters MARTHA, GRACE GUMBRELL, CATHERINE WIGZELL and ANNE RICE and their heirs in equal shares But if during such period as last aforesaid and of my said five last named Children shall die without leaving a wife husband or child living at his or her decease, his her or their share or shares in the said surplus rent shall be in trust for the other or others of them my five last mentioned Children equally and his her or their heirs And if during such period as aforesaid all of them my said five last mentioned children shall so die, then the said surplus rents shall be in trust for my said daughter AMELIA JOHNSON And after the death or marriage of my said daughter AMELIA then my said messuage and premises shall be in trust for my said son FRANK and my said five daughters their heirs and assigns in equal shares but if any of my six last mentioned children shall die without leaving a wife husband or child living at his or her decease then his her or their share or shares in the said messuage and premises shall be in trust for the other or others of my six last mentioned children and his her or their heirs equally I bequeath the sum of One hundred pounds to my son ROBERT JOHNSON if he should survive me I bequeath my plates old fancy china, jewels, trinkets and books to my five daughters equally or to such of them as shall survive me, if my daughter AMELIA shall be single and living with me at the time of my death I bequeath to her absolutely all my household furniture linen wearing apparel and other household effects not hereinbefore respectively bequeathed But if my daughter AMELIA shall have married or cease to live with me before my death then I bequeath the same to my five daughters equally or to such of them as shall be living at the time of my death I bequeath my late husbands receipts for the Digestive Pills now sold by me and also all the Digestive Pills and ingredients for Digestive Pills of which I may be possessed at the time of my death unto my five Daughters MARTHA JOHNSON, GRACE GUMBRELL JOHNSON, CATHERINE WIGZELL POTTS, ANNE RICE JOHNSON and AMELIA JOHNSON in equal shares, or to such of them as shall be living at my death And as to all the residue of my estate and effects I bequeath the same after payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses just debts and legacies unto my son FRANK and my said five daughters MARTHA JOHNSON, GRACE GUMBRELL JOHNSON, CATHERINE WIGZELL POTTS, ANNE RICE JOHNSON and AMELIA JOHNSON or such of them as shall be living at my death in equal shares I hereby release all debts and sums of money which at my decease may be due from any of my Children to their late father or to me In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this fourth day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifty six (4th day November,
