Hi,
Charles Tourville and Sophie Arpajou lived in Vergennes and Ferrisburgh until early 1850's.
After that they moved to Chateaugay, Franklin County, NY.
I know that one son, Louis Tourville, was still living in Vergennes in 1860, he was in the Civil War and later move to Michigan with his wife Matilda Saguin. He appears in the 1880 Census in Grand Haven. I did not find him yet in the 1870 Census. According to 1880 Census, their daughter was born in Michigan around 1870-71. Louis Tourville reappears in Chateaugay around 1908 as a widower and died, if I remember well in 1912, living with his nephew. No children with them.
I never found the death of his wife in Michigan or of their 2 children. The first child was born in Chateaugay.
Two sisters of him I could not retrace, Dometilde and Marie-Edesse. Did they died young, I do not know.
Marie-Edesse was born in 1839. I must say the coincidence is strange (Michigan I mean).
Where did Dwight and family live in Michigan?
The children of Charles and Sophie who married apparently in Vergennes or Ferrisburgh, I never found marriage info on them.
If I may ask, who do you know her maiden name was Tourville?
This is very interesting...
