Thought you might like this: Crawford Co, AR Probate Court Record, Nov Term, 1917, 29th day of Dec, 1917: S. J. Lacey and Mary Lacey, his wife, and files their petition duly verified by oath, praying for the adoption of Adeline Tounzen, age eight years and James Sanford Tounzen age eleven years and it appearing that said petition specified, as required by law, the names of the petitioners, the names and ages of said children that said children have no property and reside in Crawford County, Arkansas. And it appearing that parents of said children are dead and the court deeming it for the best interests of the children grants the prayer of the petition and enters an order of adoption, ordering that the said Adeline Tounzen and James Sanford Tounzen be adopted to petitioners and in the future take and bear the name of Adeline Lacey and James Sanford Lacey.
Noah may be buried at Salem cemetery but there isn't a marker for him, or for his children. We don't know where Lucinda is buried, and she was the sister of my great grandmother, Malinda Katherine Lewallen Tounzen, so brothers married sisters. And I knew Andy and Goldie well, Goldie was my grandmothers first cousin.
I don't know who were John Daniels parents, he was believed to be the son of Joseph and Mary Tounzen living in Crawford Co. I would really like to know for sure.
