Hello Frank
Came across the genealogy site while surfing. I have researched Totmans for many years off and on- I now live in New Zealand and have many New Zealand relatives here dating back three generations. Before I emigrated I lived in UK and established family links back to about 1730- our branch were Flemish Huguenots who came to Essex in about 1690 at the time of the religious persecution and have remained in the area ever since- mostly farming. The earliest relative is Abraham Totman who married Sarah Smoothy in about 1760- haven't got the details in front of me. Very few Totmans in England- I don't know if we are all related or not- maybe there were indigenous English Totmans before our branch arrived. Any comments? Would be interested to hear from you.
Regards
Peter Totman
