Well then, perhaps the theory that this Thomas Torrance was the son of Jeduthan and Eunice does have legs after all! The household of Thomas and Lovina/Lavina in Palatine, Cook Co., IL, has the following people in it: Thomas, 39, b. Mass.; Lavina, 26, b. NY; Truman Torrance, (all surnames from here to the 2nd to last person are "Torrance") 16, b. Mass.; Elmer, 11, b. Mass.; Wilber, 6, b. Mass.; Albert, 11, b. Mass.; De?bet, 3, b. Mass.; Dosatta (Doretta?) Belleon/Beleou, 3, b. Grmy? I didn't print the actual record because I already have it in my genealogy piles, so I'll use my memory, such as it is. I believe this record says Thomas and Lovina have been m. 1 yr. I question the ages for De?bet and Dosatta; they are very difficult to read. So is pob for Dosatta. This is the only record in IL which I find for Thomas but that may be because not a lot of material from IL is on familysearch at this time.
