Torre origins.

I'm Giovanni Torre of Perth, Western Australia. My father Giuseppe C. Torre came from Funari, Sicily. The family legend has always suggested that our family name came from Spain. Now I have checked out Harry Stein's link and am curious as to how/why the Torre name came to Sicily. Were they(we) Sephardic Jews fleeing the Inquisition?
