Carol , Torney hard to find is putting it mildly. My father was born in northern Iowa in 98 "Grant Richard Torney" his father was Edward James Torney, 1864 from Canada. His father I believe was Richard Torney from Canada ( the date I have is 1834 to 1922)

my information is at best sketchy
There seem to be Richards all over the place, I have a brother named Richard.
