George Reece Topp,my ancestor, was a law writer in London at time of his marriage in the Old Church, St. Pancras, London with his father being also George Topp, a law writer/solicitor. George Reece Topp died pre-1871 and father also before 1881 census so no place of birth readily detectable. In browsing the 1881 Census several other Topps are registered in St. Pancras with birthplace in Lavington, Wiltshire, particularly Thomas Topp, born 1826 in Lavington and resident in St. Pancras. This leads me to suspect that this is all the same family which migrated to London. What records do you have of the Topps in Lavington?
