I am looking for information on my grandmother's family. Her name was Vernondale "Jeannette" Toomey. She was born in Hinsdale, Illinois (Dupage County) on January 12, 1925. She married my grandfather Donald Lake sometime around 1939. They had six children: Dennis, Donald, Kathleen, Sharon, Carol, and Cindy. My mom (Carol) and my Aunt Sharon were both given up for adoption and my uncle Donald died in a fire when he was a child. My grandparents moved around the country quite a bit, but spent a lot of their time in Lake county Indiana (especially around the Gary area). My grandmother died on July 6, 1997. Because my mother was adopted, we never really learned much about my grandmother's family before she died. If anyone has any information that could help me, please contact me.
