TOOMEY/TWOMEY: Official Clan of IRISH FEST 2006 August 17-20, 2006 -- Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA As you may have heard, Irish Fest-Milwaukee has named the Toomeys/Twomeys as the “Official Clan of Irish Fest 2006.” This is a wonderful honor, and we are hoping for a great turnout of Toomeys, Twomeys, Tuomeys, Tuomys, Toomays, Toomys, Twoomeys, O’Tuamas, etc., at this special event! It’s hoped this detailed message will provide you with the information you need to plan to be with us at Irish Fest in Milwaukee, August 17-20. The 26th annual Irish Fest-Milwaukee takes place Aug. 17-20, 2006, at the Maier Festival Grounds just south of Downtown Milwaukee on the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. The Toomey/Twomey Clan Reunion will have a reserved “Toomey Tent” on the north edge of the grounds behind the Cottage Market. TICKETS: Everyone attending Irish Fest requires an admission ticket, except children 12 and under get in free. Anyone 13 and older must have a ticket. Discount tickets are available through me but must be ordered and paid for by July 26. If discount tickets are not ordered in advance, then regular price tickets may be purchased at the gate. ABOUT MILWAUKEE: Milwaukee is in southeast Wisconsin along Lake Michigan, about 100 miles north of Chicago. Milwaukee is the state’s largest city and the metropolitan area population is about 1.5 million. Aside from the main events (Toomey/Twomey Clan Reunion & Irish Fest), the city of Milwaukee has a lot to offer. There are museums, arts, historic neighborhoods and architecture, pubs, restaurants, beaches, and much more. The city is home to Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus. Area attractions include: Miller Brewery Tour; Milwaukee Brewers major league baseball (weekend series at Miller Park); Milwaukee Art Museum; Children's Museum; Discovery World Museum; Milwaukee Public Museum & IMAX; Shops of Grand Avenue; Milwaukee County Zoo; Mitchell Park Botanical Domes; and the Holy Hill National Shrine of Mary, about 30 minutes west-northwest of city. There are many others, and your hotel will no doubt have brochures on area attractions. ACCESSIBILITY: Please read the information at the Irish Fest web site for accessibility concerns. Please note that the wheelchair rentals are NOT available at the north gate (nearest to where the Toomey Tent is located). The nearest gate with wheelchair rental is the Main gate. Accessibility at Irish Fest: http://www.irishfest.com/gettinghere/accessibilityguide.htm RSVP I’ve heard from people in many states -- and even a few outside the U.S. If you haven’t already done so, please let us know if you are coming, and where from and how many are coming with you. Please e-mail ToomeyReunion@yahoo.com so we can plan for your presence. Any assistance you can provide by sharing this with all your Toomey/Twomey relatives will be greatly appreciated. It would be a shame if everyone didn’t hear about it in time. QUESTIONS? Please contact me with any questions, ideas, suggestions, etc. Before the festival I prefer e-mails directed to ToomeyReunion@yahoo.com. Thank you for your time. Slainte!
