Tom et al.,
Your question about Joseph Toombs(older brother of Paul Toombs), if this is whom you are seeking,he is my great grandfather. He was born in 11/29/1849 in Trimble Co., Ky
according to his death certificate and is listed with Jefferson in the 1870 Randolph Co, Mo Jackson Township on page 174 and in the 1880 Randolph CO. Jackson Township census married to Joann with son Freddy.
He died in May 0f 1941 in Los Angeles where I assume he was living with his son.
His wife was Joann(JoeAnn,Johanna depending on enumerator)Elliott Toombs daughter of Owen Elliott, also of Kentucky and Randolph County, Mo., and she was born approximately 1855 and died Feb 16, 1928 in Kansas City, Ks and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetury in Kansas City Ks.
The children of Joseph and Joanna are:
George Cleveland(my grandfather) born 11/01/1888 and died Sept 17,1957.
Andrew B. - don't know birth date yet but died 12/02/1961 and buried in Woodlawn Cemetury K.C., KS.
Willie died in 1904 and buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Fred Toombs born around 1880 death in Ca. I believe.
Also as a by, one of Fred's sons(Harvey) was one of the original animators for Disney so when you watch Snow White,or Cinderella, etc. and see Harvey Toombs that is your cousin.
Sorry this is so messed up but we are redoing this room and everything is a mess.
Hope this helps you and some other people.
Jerry Toombs
