Hi Margaret,
I have a Marriage Record from Lancaster County, Nebraska for Jess J Northcutt age 27 years and Cora Ferguson age 32 years dated 26th April 1904. Cora was actually Victoria Frownfelter.********This Marriage Record says the groom's parents were Jas B. Northcutt and Kate Tool.*********** The bride's parents were Gideon Frownfelter and Nancy Trotter (Gallia Co, Ohio)
A daughter was born to then in Oct 1904 and they named her Jessie Leona Northcutt. Jessie Leona's California death certificate Jan 31, 1930 states that her parents were Victoria Frownfelter and Jess Northcutt. She was raised by Lesta Frownfelter and Mahlon Miller after Victoria died.
Thank you for your input. I wonder if it was my sister you corresponded with.
The censuses have her name as Kate Northcutt and one of them calls her Adda Northcutt. That is a good idea to see if her name is on a sibling's obituary. I have a copy of one of her sons, James O. Northcutt's obituary, but I'll have to take another look at it and see if W.C.Toole's name is in it. Thanks again for your suggestions.
