Good morning Michael;
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The surname ‘Toole’ is so unusual, like Barrs that almost anyone with that last name, especially in the USA, are related somewhere along the line. It has been frustrating for me to find the connection. I have two direct Toole line relatives that I know are related to me that I share Toole family history with. One’s father changed his surname to ‘O’Toole’ and lives out in the great North West USA, Rudy O’Toole. The other, Ernest Toole, lives in Wakulla County, FL.
I suspect the connection lies someplace in Georgia. Let’s keep searching and sharing information. I would love to make the connection, especially because I now am retired in Jackson County Florida, where your Toole lived. I could do some local research and dig out people and cemeteries if we can make the connection.

PS: I too remember those old stories and especially love to hear them and record them for history. I was born and raised on a tobacco farm in Lafayette County FL and one of my Great Grandfathers, J. P. Morgan, who lived to be almost 100 was still living when I was a boy. He would sometime be brought to our home for the day. He would sit in a rocking chair on the front porch, with me sitting on the floor, and tell me about the War Between The States, which his father had fought in and was wounded. G Grandpa was a boy during The War.
Hope to hear from you directly soon...
