I came across the following:
SOURCE: OCGS Bulletin, Vol 9, Issue 4, p 23; LDS fiche # 6048733
Tooker: a brief article by Evelyn Brown Stuewer.
[She quotes from the will and codicil of Samuel Tooker - where he says " whereas Isaac tooker one of the legatees in the above will died on the fourteenth day of December, AD 1855, I do hereby..."]]
Samuel Tooker was b. May2, 1784 in Orange co NY. As yet there is no proof of who his parents were but since we now know that he named his eldest son Isaac there is a possibility that he may have been the son of Isaac Tooker and Mary Smith. Isaac Tooker was the son of Rueben Tooker & Mary Tuthill, Reuben died in Cornwall & his will is found in Goshen, book A p 54 & dated 1786, july 25. Isaac married Mary Smith May 2, 1781 in New Windsor Presby. Church by Rev John Close. There is no further information on him except the 1790 census record that shows 1 male over 16, 2 males under 16, & 2 females. The 1800 census shows 1 male over 45, I make 10-16, 1 male 16/26, & i female 16-45. The 1790 shows him living in New Windsor, and the 1800 in New Windsor. The 1810 shows him living in Warwick with 1 male over 45 and 1 female over 45.
My knowledge on the subject end here. But it is an interesting thesis.Lil
