Mary, we have the same great, great grandparents. You probably already know far more than I about them. They are buried in Storm Lake on land that they donated to St. Mary's parish. I have a photo of Catherine Tierney but not of Patrick (I'd really like to find one!). I'd be happy to email a scan of that photo if you'd like. My father lives on land homesteaded by Patrick and he farmed it until recently. I grew up on that farm. We have a copy of the deed (I believe) with Patrick's "mark"; he couldn't write. Catherine (I have been spelling it Katherine so I am probably wrong about that) smoked a clay pipe and swore quite a bit. My daughter is in Jr. High and won a state writing contest with a story about Catherine and Patrick and their trek to Storm Lake from Ontario.

I'd be interested in hearing what you know about them or in providing whatever information I may have. I descended from Patrick's and Catherine's son, Michael and his son (my grandfather) Bill. My father is also Bill. I live in Independence. Here is a link to my personal web page in case you are interested. My wife and I wrote a book recently and we're new at building web pages so I hope it works OK:

I just tripped upon this forum a few days ago and have corresponded with Bart Toohey. I'm a real rookie when it comes to geneology.
