Hi Dan, Went to your web site. All the names and dates look good; however,locations don't all add up. I know that the Tongs went to MO., but I show that Catharine Jane (Mary) Tongue was born on 1 April, 1836 in Ohio. She was married to Carlyle Jackson Creiglow (Kreglogh) on 30 Sept., 1855 in Perry Township, Hocking County, Ohio. Carlyle died in 1890 in Ohio and Catharine Jane moved to Chicago and lived with her Daughter, Myrtle Darletta Creighlow and her husband, Edward Shaeffer, both born in Ohio. My mother used to talk aabout her Grandmother, who lived with her family in Chicago, and how she met and married her husband as the family was moving west thru Hocking County, OHio. Strangers, really.
My uncle, Creighton Shaeffer used to go back every year to Ohio to attend the Tong reunions there. William Tongue owned a factory in Carroll, Ohio, that made spinning wheels. He once brought my mother a spinning wheel that had supposedly been manufactured at that factory.
I haven't had time to really go over the data in your web site, but within thenext few days, will try to really piece the information together. I have so little information on the tongue line of my family and have been hoping for these pieces to fall together.
